with Christina Poulton
If you're thinking about turning your organisation into a charity, you've probably begun by googling and ended up more confused than when you started.
There's a lot of jargon involved and very little help available, without having to pay hundreds of pounds for consultancy.
Don't panic! I genuinely love all this governance nonsense and so I've put this workshop together. It's designed to give you all the info you need, to decide if a charity is the right thing for you or not.
We will cover...
✅ What it means to be a charity and the admin and legal requirements of running one (& whether it's as scary as everyone makes out!)
✅ When and why setting up a charity can be a good move- and when it might not be
✅ The differences between a CIO and a charitable company
✅ How to get started with the set up or conversion, if you decide to go for it
plus time to get your questions answered
How it works
🚀 I'll give you all the info you need, in a clear, no waffle way
💡 I'll share my experience setting up and running charities, and of supporting people through the charity incorporation or conversion process. So you get the consultancy perspective as well as what it means if you're running the organisation day to day.
🎉 You can ask as many questions as you like, and you get to join Sticky-note Squad, which is my free monthly email support for small organisations doing great things.
⏱️You can rock up live and get all the info for free, or you can pay a bargainous £9 and get a recording of the workshop, plus the slides and some extra resources to help you work out the best route for your org.
Who are you?
Hi, I’m Christina (she/her).
I work with charities, CICs and community orgs to make your work easier to manage and fund. There’s more about me here.
I have run and successfully fundraised for many organisations, including £4.2 million+ in successful funding bids.
I’ve worked with hundreds of people on their organisation set up, including training on how to choose a legal structure, advice sessions and successful incorporation of 16 charities and community interest companies in the last couple of years.
When you run a non-profit, you’re often doing it all – and often by yourself. If that's you, then you’re in the right place. Get some support and your questions answered!
When and where?
Fri 6 June 10.30am (45 min session), online. I'll send out a zoom link on the day to everyone who's signed up
What do I get with the £9 version?
You can join the workshop live, for free.
But if you sign up for the £9 version below you can attend live, if you want, AND you get the recording of the workshop sent to you afterwards. I'll also send you the slides from the workshop, links to the resources I mention and a checklist for deciding your next move.
You can then come back to the training as often as you like, whenever you like.
I can’t make the session, will you be running it again?
I don’t plan to at the moment but if you choose the £9 option below you’ll get the recording of the session and all the resources, so you don’t miss out.
What about access?
The live session will have zoom captions enabled. The slides don't rely on any visual information and I'll give visual descriptions for any images. I only use the chat function for questions but you're welcome to unmute and ask me stuff or email me afterwards if that works better for you. The captions for the recording will be checked for clarity and accuracy by me, rather than just AI. The resources will be in text pdf format but I can provide things as pure text doc if preferred.
What if I have other questions about the workshop?
You can use the chat to me button at the bottom right of the page. If I'm not online it goes direct to my inbox. Or you can contact me via my website.
I agree to the privacy policy. I understand if I don't want to receive Sticky-note Squad emails from Christina I can unsubscribe at any time (link in every email)
